inspired by books and nature

I locked myself (and my daughter) out of the house two weeks ago. Dark rain clouds were looming overhead. I panicked. My toddler was hungry and tired, I had no snacks, and to tell you the truth, I was hungry and tired too! But after a few phone calls, we had no choice but to wait and hope the rain stayed away. We walked over to some nearby trees and foraged around for sticks, bark, feathers, flowers, seeds, and leaves until help arrived. What started as a mini-crisis quickly turned into an adventure. Hunger and grumpiness were soon forgotten; we spent a pleasant morning together and had an impressive collection of natural artefacts to take home.
